What does phyVERSO stand for?

Hardware & software for EV chargers

All System on Modules and electronics from Phytec are delivered with a customized Yocto Linux operating system. Comprehensive functions such as remote updateability, security and cloud connection are already prepared upon request. 

Together with our partner Pionix, we also offer complete electronics including the modular open source software EVerest / BaseCamp for charging stations. The framework supports numerous protocols for integration with infrastructure, vehicles, payment systems, etc. Communication takes place via a local MQTT server.

Security features such as TPM 2.0 for Secure Boot and secure connections according to OCPP standards ensure reliable operation. The TLS connection to the vehicle via ISO15118 enables secure authentication via Plug and Charge. A Trusted Platform Module (TPM 2.0) ensures secure connections and storage of private keys.

Contact Pionix for hardware options such as smart card slots for additional security. Innovative functions such as local energy management and PV integration are made possible through open source.

Technologies & Standards

phyVERSO-EVCS is designed for charging stations at private and public locations. The platform offers support for, among other things, bidirectional charging/vehicle-to-grid (V2G), PLC communication, OCPP for connecting payment services and comprehensive other connectivity. Wallboxes and EV chargers that comply with calibration law can also be implemented, as can fast chargers with megawatt charging (MCS).
