System on modules
for EVSE

PHYTEC provides the basis for high-performance electronics in charging stations and charging park controllers.
System-on-Modules (SoMs) form the technological foundation of modern charging infrastructure. PHYTEC offers high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective SoMs that are scalable and easy to integrate. Equipped with processors from NXP and TI, they are designed for long-term availability and reliable series production. Complementary software is also available.Services Ready for security, lifecycle management and updates.

Other System on Modules
We offer SoMs with processors from Texas Instruments, STMicroelectronics, and NXP. Integration onto customer-specific carrier boards is supported by suitable, hardware-specific board support packages. This is complemented by long-term product support throughout the entire lifecycle.
Future-proof design of charging controllers
Cyber Resilience Act, ISO 15118-20, OCPP, payment systems, backend integration – charging infrastructure is becoming increasingly complex. This article shows how an open, modular architecture for charging controllers reduces development effort, avoids vendor lock-in, and helps manufacturers implement new requirements faster without sacrificing flexibility or differentiation.

Frequently Asked Questions
A System on Module (SOM) is a compact computing module that already integrates the central processor platform, memory, and other core functions. For manufacturers of charging stations or charging park controllers, this means they don't have to develop these complex core functions from scratch, but can instead focus on their actual application and integration into their device. PHYTEC positions its SOMs precisely as a high-performance, reliable, and cost-effective foundation for electronics in charging stations and charging park controllers.
The SOM It provides the computing power and forms the technological basis. Carrier board The carrier board is the application-specific board on which the interfaces, connectors, and peripherals required for the respective product are implemented. This is particularly helpful for customers in the charging electronics sector because they can design precisely the functions their charging solution needs on the carrier board, while the SOM provides the ready-made processor base. PHYTEC explicitly describes this approach as allowing customers to focus on integration on their own carrier board.
A SOM (System on Module) shortens development time and reduces risk because key hardware functions are already available, tested, and designed for series production. This is a major advantage, especially in charging electronics, where reliability, availability, and maintainability are crucial over many years. PHYTEC emphasizes that the modules are easy to integrate, scalable, have long-term availability, and are designed for high reliability in series production. Hardware-specific board support packages and long-term product support are also offered.
The added value lies not only in the hardware module itself, but in the prepared overall basis for product operation. PHYTEC offers pre-configured BSPs for its SOMs. Services for Security, lifecycle management and update capability This is relevant for charging electronics providers because modern systems require long-term maintenance, security, and updates. Furthermore, various SOMs with processors from NXP and TI are available, allowing for scalability based on performance and cost requirements.
