Mainz, February 25, 2026
“De-Risk Your Development” – under this motto Phytec presents new products at embedded world Products and Services, the risks in software, hardware and ProductsMinimize development. This includes the interchangeable phyFLEX System on Modules (SoMs), which are being introduced for the first time with the new i.MX 952 and i.MX 937 processors from NXP, STMicroelectronics STM32MP2, Synaptics SL261x and AM62P from Texas Instruments.
Specifically for vision applications, Phytec is showcasing phyVIP, an integration platform based on the phyFLEX module standard. Initially, it will be available with NXP's i.MX 8M Plus and i.MX 95 processors, as well as optional AI accelerators. The platform reduces development effort for vision applications by up to 70 percent.
Also premiering are System on Modules and OEM solutions with Ubuntu Pro for Devices as the operating system. This package-based OS offers integrated security patches and is aimed at customers who want to implement long-term maintainability and security by design.
With a view to the requirements of the Cyber Resilience Act, Phytec is also expanding its portfolio to include scalable security solutions. Services as well as a new update and device management system.
Interchangeable SoMs create scalability and resilience
The new interchangeable phyFLEX solder modules extend the scalability of the series from low-cost to high-performance. They enable resilience in the event of component shortages, upgrades throughout the product lifecycle, and product lines with varying performance and features. The phyFLEX i.MX 952 FPSC is a component-based variant of the NXP i.MX 95, featuring four instead of six ARM Cortex-A55 cores and a smaller GPU and NPU configuration. It allows for tiered computing power for more cost-effective product variants without requiring changes to the carrier board. Both processors share the same security concept, an integrated ISP, and ARM Cortex-M7/M33 cores for real-time control.
Optimal performance despite storage shortage
With the phyFLEX-i.MX 93 FPSC, Phytec relies on an architecture featuring a quad-core ARM Cortex-A55 and an ARM Cortex-M33 core for real-time tasks, as well as LPDDR5 memory. This memory type is currently cost-effective and widely available, delivering high bandwidth of up to 5,8 GB/s and high energy efficiency. The module demonstrates how the interchangeable phyFLEX system-on-modules with FPSC footprint offer resilience and alternatives in the event of component shortages or unexpected product discontinuations.
For applications with high graphics requirements, Phytec is expanding its FPSC-footprint soldering module series with the phyFLEX-AM62P. Its Texas Instruments processor features up to four ARM Cortex A53 cores and a GPU with a performance of up to 50 GFLOPS. This enables even demanding graphics applications. A demonstration at the Phytec booth and the Texas Instruments booth (3A-131) compares the graphics performance of the AM62P and AM62L and showcases the scalability of the TI processors and the phyFLEX modules.
Cost-effective SoMs for Edge AI and mobile applications
The phyFLEX-STM32MP2x FPSC The SoM integrates the STM32MP2 series, the second generation of processors from STMicroelectronics, into a cost-effective and compact soldering module with FPSC technology. With its high computing power, high-end interfaces, and security features, it is ideally suited for numerous industrial applications, edge AI, and mobile devices. The phyFLEX-STM32MP2x SoM is configurable in various configurations with a single-core or dual-core processor and with or without a GPU.
For the first time, Phytec is expanding its soldering module series with the phyFLEX-SL261x, which features a processor from Synaptics. It is characterized by a favorable price-performance ratio, scalable computing power including AI units, and low energy consumption, making it ideally suited for a wide range of IoT devices.
