Two footprints for flexible integration

The phyCAM VM-024 camera module is based on the 8,3-megapixel AR0830 sensor from Onsemi and is available in color and monochrome versions. The rolling shutter sensor offers high resolution, a wide dynamic range, and sensitivity even in the near-infrared range. This makes the Phytec camera suitable for a wide range of embedded vision applications – thanks to its low power consumption, it is particularly suitable for mobile devices. For flexible integration, the camera module will be available in the phyCAM standard 34 x 34 mm, as the phyCAM-M-mini measuring just 18 x 26 mm, and as the phyCAM-L with an FPD-Link III interface integrated directly on the board for flexible data transmission via coaxial cables up to 15 m long. Phytec is presenting a universally applicable backplane specifically for the phyCAM-mini series, which combines the small footprint of the phyCAM-M-mini with the advantages of data transmission via FPD-Link. All three variants will be available in series production from the end of the year.

Embedded vision with phyCORE-AM68x

At the trade fair, Phytec will present the phyBOARD-Izar rapid development kit for the Texas Instruments AM68x/TDA4x processor, which also includes a phyCAM-M camera module. The processor is specifically optimized for compute-intensive image processing and AI applications and, in addition to its two Cortex-A72 cores, features dedicated hardware accelerators for image and video processing. These include an integrated ISP, a unit for stereo vision and motion estimation, and an AI accelerator with a performance of 8 TOPS. Dedicated controller units are also integrated for safety, security, and device management. Additional embedded vision kits featuring the latest processors from NXP will also be on display at the booth.

Comprehensive advance services for rapid development

Phytec's embedded cameras and processor boards are perfectly matched to each other and their respective applications – this includes the hardware as well as the included Linux board support packages and the camera connection, including access to the processor ISP. Based on these preliminary services, the Mainz-based company develops customer-specific complete solutions, including optics assembly and calibration upon request. Phytec also offers comprehensive Services on topics such as device management, IoT and security.
