Phytec and Texas Instruments deepen their over 30-year partnership and jointly accelerate embedded innovations.

  • Three decades of collaboration: Phytec is appointed a TI Premium Partner
  • The award recognizes decades of collaborative work on embedded solutions.
  • New Phytec System-on-Modules with TI-Sitara™ AM62P processor introduced

Mainz, September 22, 2026

Since 1995, Phytec and Texas Instruments have been working together to simplify embedded design and reduce time-to-market for industrial developers worldwide. This collaboration is now being recognized with Phytec's designation as a TI Premium Partner. As part of the program, Phytec and its customers receive early access to components, resources, and engineering support. The partnership was first announced at embedded world 2026 in Nuremberg, where Phytec presented its latest SOMs based on the TI Sitara™ AM62P processor. The phyCORE AM62P belongs to Phytec's core product line of pluggable SOMs, while the phyFLEX AM62P belongs to the phyFLEX line of interchangeable SOMs with the standardized FPSC (Future Proof Solder Core) footprint.

The partnership between Phytec and Texas Instruments began in 1995 with the development of the miniMODUL-DSPC5x, equipped with a TMS320C5x digital signal processor (DSP). Since then, Phytec has continuously developed system-on-modules (SOMs) based on TI chips – from the DM387x, DM814x, OMAP3, and OMAP4 through the AM57x to the newer AM6 processor series, most recently with the AM67x, AM62P, and AM62L. These are used worldwide in industrial, vision, and edge applications across numerous industries. This long-standing collaboration has given Phytec engineers an in-depth understanding of the TI processor roadmap, resulting in shorter development cycles, robust reference designs, and better-supported SOMs. Products.

At embedded world 2026, TI unveiled its enhanced partner program and recognized Phytec as a Premium Partner – the program's highest tier. This award reflects the tangible results of this collaboration: from simplified embedded designs and faster time-to-market for customers to a broad, well-supported SOM portfolio that offers industrial developers true scalability and flexibility.

Also at embedded world, Phytec presented new system-on-modules (SOMs) based on the AM62P processor. The phyCORE-AM62P belongs to Phytec's core product line of pluggable SOMs, which are customizable and route every signal from the processor to the connectors. The phyFLEX-AM62P is part of Phytec's phyFLEX line of interchangeable solderable modules and enables future-proof designs and scalability. It thus complements Phytec's broad portfolio of SOMs with TI processors, including the AM62x, AM62A, AM62L, AM64x, AM65x, AM67x, and AM68A. Products There are software BSP updates twice a year, as well as upstream support for U-Boot and Linux.

Phytec will continue to rely on its long-term partnership and broad coverage of TI processors. Phytec's product design and reference circuits are aligned with other TI components, including MCUs, DSPs, PMICs, Ethernet PHYs, converters, and high-quality analog power components – enabling customers to get to production faster with the latest technology.

Bodo Huber, Managing Director & CTO at Phytec, says:
"The close collaboration with TI enables us to offer our customers a comprehensive portfolio of embedded modules, design-Services and to offer development support – thus opening up a faster path to market maturity for them. The TI processor portfolio offers developers scalable options and maximum flexibility for a wide range of industrial requirements. Within the framework of the newly defined partner program – and especially through our designation as a Premium Partner – new opportunities are opening up. We look forward to the next chapter in the success story of TI and Phytec."

Roland Sperlich, Processors Business Unit Manager at Texas Instruments, adds:
“Phytec exemplifies the kind of dedicated partner that translates TI’s processor technology into real added value for customers. Their deep expertise in embedded module design and commitment to supporting customers from concept to series production make Phytec a valued premium partner. We share the vision of giving industrial developers the scalability and flexibility they need for the most demanding applications. We are proud to further expand this partnership and look forward to shaping the next generation of industrial solutions together.”
