GESAS _ High performance HMI panel for system control

Based on the phyCORE-i.MX 6 module and the SBC developmentservices was able to create a robust 7'' HMI panel for use in the shipping sector to monitor and control the engine room to be developed. The panel acts as both an HMI and an IoT gateway. 

As early as the concept phase of the 7 ”high performance HMI panel, Phytec was able to provide decisive support by selecting a suitable processor and the appropriate System on Module (SOM) for industrial and mobile applications. Important criteria were the support of DVFS (Dynamic Voltage and Frequency Scaling) to continuously adjust the operating frequency and operating voltage in response to changes in workload and CPU temperature. For optimum performance with the lowest possible power consumption.

Thanks to SBC developmentservices PHYTEC was able to jointly complete the concept and hardware development of the first version of the carrier board quickly and inexpensively. Flexible adaptation of the board support package to customer-specific requirements was taken into account here. The production of the prototypes and support during commissioning could also be implemented quickly thanks to the Custom SBC concept.
