Bender GmbH & Co. KG is a globally active, medium-sized family business and a successful pioneer and market leader for electrical safety products and solutions. Electronic products – especially those with safety-related issues – require regular updates. This is also the case with Bender's COMTRAXX CP9xx series alarm and control panels. Together with Phytec, a special migration path was chosen: the development of a module that enables the use of a new processor without having to modify the mainboard. The goals were increased computing power, long-term availability, and laying the foundation for future new developments. Phytec's embedded solution: the development of a mapper board, which provides the connectors of the phyCORE-i.MX 6 module on its underside, related to the pin muxings of the Bender applications.
